Steve Bennett

Steven Bennett grew up in Louth, Lincolnshire into a passionate foodie family. He is the son of a baker and butcher, and spent the very early years of his budding career learning the family trade.


He ventured into the food industry, specialising in catering and hospitality, and quickly worked his way through the ranks in some of the country’s most notable award-winning and Michelin-starred restaurants including The Star Inn in North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire’s own Wintringham Fields.


In 2012, Steven became Head Chef at Grimsby’s Best Western Oaklands Hall Hotel, leading The Comfy Duck restaurant to achieve two AA rosettes and several ‘Best Restaurant’ awards during his five-year stay. In this time, he was granted Guild of Master Craftsmen in 2016 and established his very own catering company, The Lincolnshire Chef, where he champions the use of truly local, seasonal produce – including fresh Grimsby fish, of course.


Most recently, Steven has taken over the reigns of Healing Manor Hotel as Chef Patron and Managing Director, bringing with him his much-loved style of traditional French cooking, modern dining and love of Lincolnshire food.
