Jack Grant

On 1st October 2021, Grimbarian Jack Grant will be making his Bellator debut, fighting in the international MMA organisation’s welterweight bout in Bellator 267.

Jack, who was born in Grimsby, began his MMA journey in 2002 when his mum took him to his first boxing class, debuting as an amateur boxer in 2003 at age 11. This is where Jack met local boxing coach, ex-professional boxer, and mentor Stuart Fleet, who is still a true friend and a huge part of Jack’s career to this day.


When he was 16, Jack began training at an MMA club and after just a couple of months, he made his amateur debut. It wasn’t long before Jack was being recognised as a top prospect in the sport. He continued his training at Doncaster Martial Arts Centre, becoming a brown belt in Jiu-Jitsu under renowned 3rd degree black belts, Neil White and Neil Owen.

On 15th September 2012, Jack turned pro after winning a fight with a TKO Stoppage, competing in Caged Steel, BAMMA, and Cage Warriors events: “I’ve never looked back, I’m living my dream and I’ve had so many great moments in my pro career, but I feel I’ve not really had my breakthrough moment just yet.

“I’d probably say my Cage Warriors debut was when I realised that I’m ready to become a World Champion. I’ve never felt so ready mentally to achieve my goals. I get inspired by many things about the sport but I’d say the main thing is I just want to fight the best guys in the world.”


In 2018, Jack opened his own MMA training facility, Grant Combat Academy, where people of all ages and abilities can train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and submission wrestling. “I think Martial Arts is incredible for kids and adults in the local area as it’s such a positive outlet for negative energy. You learn to regulate your emotions in stressful situations, gain discipline, structure, and become a dynamic problem solver. Everyone is welcome to learn, come check us out.”
